Spicy Masala Roasted Makhana

  • 2 cups popped makhana (fox nuts)
  • 1 tbsp ghee or oil
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • ½ tsp red chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh coriander

In a heavy skillet over medium heat, melt ghee/oil and toast cumin seeds until they sizzle.

Add makhana and roast, stirring constantly, for 5–6 minutes until they turn crisp and slightly golden.

Sprinkle in chili powder, turmeric, chaat masala, and salt. Toss well to coat evenly.

Remove from heat, stir in fresh coriander, and let cool for a minute before serving.
